What a fulfilling August! Our customer appreciation month was a great success! We were pleased to lavish you with $400 in guest appreciation discounts on our 20% Off Day, more than 150 free cookies, and just as many free beers! And, don't worry - we didn't forget our employees, either - we had our first ever staff appreciation event, a barbecue picnic at Wekiva Falls Resort.
With the hot August days now behind us, I am giddy with anticipation for Fall to arrive! Besides the playful fun of Halloween and the family togetherness of Thanksgiving, Fall brings a welcome list of my favorite tasks: a delicious season of baking soon to be done, and holiday gifts and decorations to be created and bestowed. Even better is the growing optimism that the worst of our collective economic troubles are behind us!
You can get a jump start on Fall this Saturday, September 5th, from 2-6pm, with our Plants & Gardening freecycle, just in time for the September Fall-time planting season! More info on this special event is below.

Parking Update
New on-street parking added on Alden Rd! Thank you to the City of Orlando for adding additional on-street parking on Alden Road at our request! These seven new on-street parking spots are located near the intersection of Alden Rd and Virginia Drive, and are both closer and easier to find than the alternate street parking on Brookhaven Drive. Visit our parking page to see exactly where these new spots are located!

Plants and Gardening Freecycle
Join our September freecycle on Saturday, September 5th, from 2pm to 6pm. Bring any unwanted plants, clippings, pots, or gardening tools for freecycling on the patio! Volunteers from Simple Living Institute will be on hand to help you identify and learn how to care for your newly adopted plant. Other items also welcome - but no furniture, please! This freecyle is co-hosted by Simple Living Institute and the Black Manatee Collective.

Pierogies!
Pierogi Night will start at 6pm on Tuesday, September 15th; choose between four or six handmade pierogi and add a vegan Kielbasa for +$2.50, or sour cream for +50¢. If you haven't tried our handmade pierogies, you don't know what you're missing!

September's Charity: Keep Orlando Beautiful
This month's charity is Keep Orlando Beautiful, a certified affiliate of Keep America Beautiful dedicated to improving Orlando through litter prevention, waste reduction and recycling, and beautification. Keep Orlando Beautiful also provides educational outreach and volunteer opportunities to children and adults through its numerous cleanup events, including the upcoming Lake Ivanhoe cleanup (»view flyer (.pdf)) across the street from Ethos! VBBQ!
September's VBBQ will be held Saturday, September 26th, 2pm-6pm. As usual, we'll be offering a delicious BBQ special, plus $3 drafts of cold, organic beer, and musical entertainment on the patio! The music lineup is still in the works, but will be posted on our website upon finalization.
"Shoe The Shoeless" Shoe Drive Results
Our August shoe drive for the homeless ended August 31st, and we were pleased to collect more than 30 pairs of shoes for the homeless! Thank you to all who participated!
