We realize that everybody is feeling the pinch of the current economic downturn, but, as Kelly and I speak with many of you from day to day, we are uplifted by the cheery smiles and hearty handshakes which are still plentiful despite the times. Don't let your hardships bring you down; focus on the things that bring you joy, and, remember, this too shall come to pass!

March is bursting with events! In addition to our regular events, there's our new budget-friendly Beer & Pizza Night, Irish food specials for St. Patty's Day, and our second VBBQ. Read on for more details!

Meatout 2009 is scheduled for Friday, March 20th - join thousands around the world in giving up meat for a day! Most of what we eat is determined by habit, and Meatout is a good opportunity for folks to experience vegetarianism firsthand. To participate in Meatout, why not schedule a lunch or dinner with friends and family at your favorite vegan or vegetarian restaurant, or, host a vegetarian or vegan dinner party at home? »More Info at Meatout.org

•Join our March freecycle this Saturday, March 7th, from 2pm to 6pm. Bring any unwanted plants, clippings, pots, or gardening tools for freecycling on the patio! This freecycle will be co-hosted by Simple Living Institute, and volunteers will be on hand to help you identify and learn how to care for your newly adopted plant. »View Event Flyer

•Our March Pierogi Night will be held early this month, on Tuesday, March 10th;
choose between four or six handmade pierogi and add a vegan Kielbasa for +$2.50.

•Saint Patrick's Day falls on Tuesday, March 17th, and we'll be celebrating with Irish food specials and $3 Drafts all day long! Kelly's Irish heritage makes St. Patrick's Day near and dear to our heart, and we're excited to prepare vegan versions of traditional Irish food favorites, like boxty and colcannon, for your enjoyment! »View Flyer

•Our March charity is the UCF student chapter of American Humanics, a national alliance of colleges, universities and nonprofit organizations dedicated to educating, preparing and certifying professionals to strengthen and lead non-profit organizations. •February's VBBQ was a hit! We got a lot of compliments on Kelly's secret recipe BBQ sauce. March's VBBQ will be held Saturday, March 28th, 2pm-6pm, and will be hosted by MTD, with live performances by Chaz, Rubox, MTD, Not Them, Journ, and DJ Stranger. •Can you believe we sold ten thousand phillies in just one year?! On Friday, February 13th, we gave the 10,000th Philly away free to lucky diner Sean Blacklidge! Thanks to all the Philly lovers out there for helping us to achieve this milestone!

•Don't forget about our delicious Sunday Brunch - vegan pancakes, biscuits and gravy, plus weekly brunch specials, made-from-scratch cinnamon buns and $3.50 mimosas all make it our favorite day of the week.
