Goodbye August! Goodbye to sunburn, mosquitos, high power bills, hurricanes (hopefully), and grass that always needs cut, no matter how often you mow. Hello pleasant breezes! Gardening season! Knitting Christmas gifts! (I start early.) Apple cider!

I know I'm ahead of myself, as Summer doesn't end until September 22nd, but, when the time comes, we'll be celebrating autumn properly with fall-time recipes and events. Until then, use the special coupon below to cool down with our delicious iced tea the next time you come in for lunch.

The 10% Day to benefit Superior Mutts Doggie Rescue, Inc. was flooded out in August, but has now been rescheduled for Saturday, September 20th. Superior Mutts is dedicated to finding homes for hard-to-place dogs, and also provides support services to other local animal rescues. Founder Chris Murphy is an Ethos regular. To have 10% of your Ethos check donated to the Superior Mutts, simply print the Event Flyer (.pdf) and present it on the 10% Day when placing your order.

Kelly and I are grateful for all the help we received from family, friends, and concerned community do-gooders during Tropical Storm Fay. Thank You. There was a point when our spirits were broken, our muscles were stiff, and our shop-vacs were overheating... it may sound cliché, but, we really couldn't have made it through the week without their help. If you know anyone on our list of volunteers, please give them a hearty handshake and clap on the back, and thank them for their community spirit. And to our volunteers, please call on us in your hour of need. We'll be there!
