Kelly and I are pleased to introduce "10% Benefit Days," a special charitable event meant to benefit our favorite local 501c3 non-profits. On a 10% Day, participating guests present an event day flyer when paying their check. A duplicate receipt is stapled to the flyer and dropped into a jar. At the end of the day, Ethos Vegan Kitchen writes the featured non-profit a check equal to 10% of the total receipts in the jar.

While charitable giving is part of our socially responsible ethos, we hope this program will benefit our business as well by getting new guests through our doors.

»Our first 10% Benefit Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2008, to benefit Orlando Food Not Bombs, a local organization that coordinates weekly food sharings for Orlando's hungry. To have 10% of your Ethos check donated to Food Not Bombs, simply print the Event Flyer (.pdf) and present it when ordering on the 10% Day. Visit the Orlando Food Not Bombs website (www.orlandofoodnotbombs.org) to learn more about this important non-profit and its work, and how you can help.

»Sunday Brunch! Starting Easter Sunday, March 23rd, we'll be open for Brunch on Sundays, from 10am to 3pm. Our regular menu will not be available; instead, we will offer a special brunch menu. The brunch menu will change weekly, and will feature homestyle favorites made from scratch, just like our regular menu. To give you a sneak peek, we're thinking biscuits & gravy, pancakes or french toast, home fries, grits, homemade cinnamon buns, and plenty of fresh coffee. The menu will be posted on our website Menu page once it's finalized. Hope to see you there!

»Our art will be rotating later this month, and we'll be holding an Art Show Saturday, March 29th, from 6pm-10pm to welcome and show off our new featured artists, Rafael Angelo and Jeff Riggan. The art show will also feature the turntablism of DJ SPS on the patio, and live painting demonstrations both inside and outside. Special thanks to our curator, Takedown Magazine for organizing this special event.
